"You had your whole life to lead but was taken from us suddenly."
"You will be forever in everyone's hearts."
"Kim has now gone to heaven and will be missed by her cousins".
Kim Baker died when the BMW bike ridden by her step-father, Paul Baker, hit a lamp-post and crashed in Berinsfield, Oxfordshire on Saturday 7th August 2004.
Kim died almost instantly, her stepfather escaped with severe injuries. She was 13 going on 30, mature and caring.
She would be taking her GCSE's this year same as me, she would have applied for colleges and be ready to succeed in the world. She should be here for graduation, for the last day of term.
You're always in my heart Kim, I think about you all the time. I wish I could have done something, you shouldn't have been with him that night. I'm sorry you were taken so young, you were a pleasure to know & a beautiful soul.
I hope you're resting, looking after everyone, you always were bright & courageous.
I wish I knew you better..
"I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine," He said,
"For you to love the while she lives,
And mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call her back,
Take care of her for Me?
Shee'll bring her charms to gladden you,
And should her stay be brief,
You'll have her lovely memories
As solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise she will stay,
Since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over,
In my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love,
Not think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call
And take her back again?"
I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness,
We'll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her,
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand."
I didnt know you but I knew so much about this tradegy from working at the solicitors that dealt with this accident. Such a shame that such a beautiful girl was ripped from the arms and hearts of her family at such a young age. I drive past the lampost a lot when I visit my sisiter who lives just around the corner from where this happened and I take a minute in silence to think about what happened. There are always flowers and a wooden cross in your memory. God looked around his garden that day and decided it was your time to join him and the rest of the angels up those golden stairs. I hope you are looking down on all those who love you and that you are looking after them. I know what it is like to lose someone but remember that Kim is not far - she will always be by your side. Rest in peace sweet darling Kim. R x
Kimberly
The beauty of Kimberly is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries, Or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of Kimberly must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.
The beauty of Kimberly is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in this young girl is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
And the beauty of Kimberly
With passing years only grows
Im so sorry for the tragic loss of your beautiful daugther, she has not gone, I hope you can take strength to beleive that although you can not see Kimberly she will walk by your side until you meet again. God bless. XXXX
